Manage Phase Sets

For FIDES predictions, the ability to use predefined phase records saves time when you’re defining the life profile for a system or assembly. You can group the individual records together into predefined phase sets, which make it even easier to create the profile for a particular item.

To open the Manage Phase Sets window, choose File > Manage Database > FIDES Settings Manager then click the Phase Sets button.

Tip: Note that you can also access this window while working on a particular FIDES analysis in a prediction folio by clicking Select Phase Set in the Item Phases window.

The table displays all of the saved phase sets in the current database, if any. Double-click any row to view/edit the properties for that phase set. In addition, you can use the icons on the ribbon to:

  Add opens the Phase Set properties window, which allows you add phases to the set. Click the Select Phases command in the window to select which of the saved database phases will be added to the set. The phases you have selected will appear in the Phase Name area. You can then use the Move Up and Move Down commands to arrange the phases in the desired order. (The phase order does not impact the calculations.)

  Edit (or simply view) the selected phase set.

  Delete the selected phase set.

  Refresh the list of saved phase sets to display the latest information stored in the database. This is useful if multiple users are accessing the database simultaneously.
