LEN

Used only in ReliaSoft Workbooks

Description: Returns the number of characters in a text string.

Syntax: LEN(Text)

• Text is the text whose length you want to find. Spaces count as characters.

Example:

Suppose A1:A3 contain "Phoenix", "AZ" and " ".

• LEN(A1) = 7 [the length of the first string]
• LEN(A3) = 0 [the length of the third string]
• LEN("   One  ") = 8 [the length of the string, which includes 5 spaces]
