Other Settings
The Other Settings page of BlockSim's Application Setup allows you to set some other preferences that are applicable only to BlockSim.
- Project
- Show the Project Wizard when creating new projects displays a wizard that helps you select the first new diagram to create in a project. If not selected, the new project will be blank.
- Ask to apply changes when selecting different block in Block Properties window displays a window asking if you want to apply the changes you made to the active block when you select another block from the Active Block drop-down list in the Block Properties window. If not selected, the changes will automatically be saved to the active block and the window will not appear when you select another block from the Active Block drop-down menu.
- Ask to apply changes when using the Format Painter displays a window with the Format Painter that allows you to specify which settings will be applied to another block.
- Show warning when changing the IBS status displays a warning message when you select or clear the Use IBS check box on the analysis settings page for analytical diagrams, or in the Change IBS Setting window (Diagram > Selection > Diagram Actions > Change IBS Setting).
- Show warning when changing the fault tree analysis type displays a warning message when you change the analysis type for an analytical fault tree. (See Analytical Diagrams for more detail.)
- Show warning when an unused block is found in the maintenance template displays a warning message when you attempt to run a simulation on a phase diagram with an associated maintenance template that includes a block not used in any of the operational phases.
- Ask for confirmation when connecting multiple blocks. You can add multiple connectors at once by selecting either multiple source blocks or multiple destination blocks and then adding a connector (see Connecting Blocks for more detail). If this option is selected, you will see a message allowing you to choose to add the connections for all of the blocks in the selection. The message gives you the option to stop showing the message in the future and to always perform the action you select going forward. Note that if you instead clear this option manually within the Application Setup, the default behavior (adding the connection only to the block you actually placed the connector on) will be used.
- Check analysis for inconsistencies prior to simulation checks for inconsistencies in a simulation RDD or fault tree prior to simulating it.
- While QCP is open, have access to all folios locks the QCP in a top window position (i.e., non-modal) so it can remain open while you have access to all diagrams. The calculations performed in the QCP will be based on the currently active diagram. If not selected, you must close the QCP in order to return to the diagrams. This setting can also be changed from within the QCP by selecting or clearing the Non-Modal QCP option in the Options drop-down list.
- Show warning when removing a resource displays a warning message when you attempt to remove a resource that is in use.
