System Requirements

Operating Systems

You must be running a 64-bit operating system. The following are supported:

  • Microsoft Windows® 10 or 11.
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or 2019. (Requires a license that specifically allows server installations/deployments.)

Minimum Hardware Requirements

  • RAM: 4 GB (8 GB or more recommended)
  • Hard disk space: 2 GB (minimum) free space available if using the standard online installer; 5 GB (minimum) if using the offline installer*
  • Screen resolution: 1024 x 768 or higher

Additional Software Requirements

  • .NET Framework 4.8
  • Microsoft Office (Excel®, Word and Outlook®) 2016, 2019 or Office 365 (plans with installed software – i.e., not web-based) for automated exports, report generation and e-mail/calendar integration.
    • If you plan to use the optional ReliaSoft Application Programming Interface (API) with VBA, the bitness of the installed ReliaSoft software must match the bitness of the installed Office.

Enterprise Database Platforms

32- and 64-bit versions are supported.

  • SQL Server® 2014 (SP3), 2016 (SP3), 2017, 2019 or Azure
  • SQL Server Express Edition 2014 - 2019
  • Oracle® 18c or 19c (with limitations for multi-tenancy and/or pluggable databases)

Although the enterprise database platform (Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle) could be installed on the same computer where the ReliaSoft applications reside, most organizations will choose to set up a separate server to host the database. The ReliaSoft applications will work with either the 32-bit or 64-bit versions of a back-end database/server. The minimum hardware/software requirements for each server hosting the database should be obtained directly from the selected database vendor (i.e., Microsoft or Oracle). In general, we recommend a minimum CPU speed of 2 GHz and 4 GB of RAM.

* There are two different installation programs that may be provided, depending on your needs. Most users will use ReliaSoft2024.exe; this streamlined installer contains only the ReliaSoft files required for installation and will, as part of its process, download the minimum Microsoft Office installation files (if any) required for the ReliaSoft software to function on your particular system. For users in environments where Internet access is tightly restricted or unavailable, we offer ReliaSoft2024Offline.exe; this installer is larger, as it contains all Office installation files that might be required for a variety of system setups. Please contact Technical Support if you need the offline installer.
